Remove: Lower Fairings (see Lower Fairing Removal in the Frame chapter) Fuel Tank (see Fuel Tank Removal in the Fuel System chapter) Bolts [A] (Both Sides) Foot Guard [B] (Both Sides)

Rear Shock Absorber Removal

Squeeze the brake lever slowly and hold it with a band [A].

WARNING

Be sure to hold the front brake when removing the shock absorber, or the motorcycle may fall over. It could cause an accident and injury.

Raise the rear wheel off the ground with the jack.

Remove: Lower Rear Shock Absorber Nut and Bolt [A]

Remove: Upper Rear Shock Absorber Nut and Bolt [A]
Remove the rear shock absorber upward.
