Fan Motor Inspection
If the fan does not rotate, the fan motor is defective and must be replaced.

Air Intake Solenoid Valve Unit TestAlternator Rotor Removal
Remove the alternator cover (see Alternator Cover Removal).
Clean off the oil from the outer circumference of the rotor.
Hold the alternator rotor steady with the rotor holder [A]
and suitable washer or plate [B].

Oxygen Sensor Heater Power Source Voltage Inspection
NOTE
Be sure the battery is fully charged.
Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
Remove the fuel tank (see Fuel Tank Removal in the Fuel
System (DFI) chapter).
Disconnect the oxygen sensor lead connector and connect
the measuring adapter [A] between these connectors
as shown in the fig ...
Piston Ring Thickness Inspection
Measure the piston ring thickness.
Use the micrometer to measure at several points around
the ring.
