A drain hose is connected to the bottom of the air cleaner to drain water or oil accumulated in the cleaner part.
If any water or oil accumulates in the hose, remove the plug [B] from the drain hose and drain it.
| WARNING Oil on tires will make them slippery and can cause an accident and injury. Be sure to reinstall the plug in the drain hose after draining. |

Spark Plug Condition Inspection
Remove the spark plugs (see Spark Plug Replacement in

Visually inspect the spark plugs.
If the spark plug center electrode [A] and/or side electrode
[B] are corroded or damaged, or if the insulator [C]

Piston Ring End Gap Inspection
Place the piston ring [A] inside the cylinder (upper
crankcase), using the piston to locate the ring squarely
in place. Set it close to the bottom of the cylinder, where
cylinder wear is low.
Measure the gap [B] between the ends of the ring with a
thickness gauge.
