Kawasaki Ninja Service Manual / Steering / Steering Damper / Steering Damper Installation

Install the following parts as shown in the figure.

Collar [A] Washer (t = 3.5 mm, 0.14 in.) [B] Steering Damper [C] (
ZX1000JC/KC) Electronic Steering Damper [D] (ZX1000JD/KD) Washer (t = 1.2 mm, 0.05 in.) [E]
Apply a non-permanent locking agent to the threads of the steering damper mounting bolts (TORX bolts) [F].
Tighten: Torque - Steering Damper Mounting Bolts: 11 N·m (1.1 kgf·m, 97 in·lb)

Steering Damper Installation

After tightening the steering damper mounting bolts, confirm that there is play [A] in the steering damper [B].

ZX1000JD/KD

Be sure to run the main harness under the steering damper bracket [A].

In this photo, the fuel tank covers have been removed for clarity.

Hold the main harness with the clamp [B].

Fit the projection of the clamp to the hole in front of the electronic steering damper.

Connect the connector [C].
