NOTE
Use the battery which is fully charged.
Warm up the engine thoroughly.
Stop the engine.
Remove the spark plugs (see Spark Plug Replacement in
the Periodic Maintenance chapter).
Attach the compression gauge [A] and adapter [B] firmly
into the spark plug hole.

Confirm whether pulley [A] is an angle shown in the figure.
41.7° ±7° [B]
This position is original position of the pulley.
NOTE
Correct the position electrically after confirming the use
is discontinued and there is no damage when differing
from the angle of shown in the figure.

Oil Level Inspection
If the oil has just been changed, start
the engine and run it for severalminutes
at idle speed. This fills the oil
filter with oil. Stop the engine, then
wait several minutes until the oil settles.
NOTICE
Racing the engine before the oil
reaches every part can cause engine
seizure.
